Who we are
consuladosalvador.com is an independent editorial project that brings together in one place the information the Salvadoran community in the United States needs about its consulates: where they are, what number to call, what hours they keep, what procedures they handle, and how to request an appointment.
The idea came from seeing how scattered this information is. The details for each consulate live on different websites, hours change, and many pages don't read well on a phone. Our job is to organize all of that and present it in a simple way, designed to answer a specific question in just a few minutes: from getting your DUI to renewing a passport or registering a child.
Who this site is for
It is aimed at the more than two million Salvadorans living in the U.S., from the large communities of Los Angeles, Houston, Long Island, and the Washington, D.C. area to those who live far from any consulate. Whether you need to process your DUI, renew your passport, grant a power of attorney, register a child born in the U.S., or simply find out which consulate serves you, here you'll find it explained step by step.
How we verify the information
Accuracy comes first. Before publishing a consulate listing or a procedure guide, we cross-check the details against official sources of the Salvadoran government:
- The portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador and the subsites of each consulate.
- The official appointment system portalcitas.rree.gob.sv and the Call Center at 1-888-301-1130.
- The National Registry of Natural Persons (RNPN), the agency responsible for the DUI.
Even so, addresses, hours, and phone numbers can change without notice. That's why we recommend always confirming the details on the consulate's official website before you travel there. If you spot something out of date, let us know through the contact page: we'll verify it and correct it.
What we are NOT
consuladosalvador.com is an independent information site. We are not the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of El Salvador, or any consulate. We do not manage appointments, we do not issue passports or DUIs, and we do not represent any Salvadoran authority.
All official procedures are carried out through the government's channels: rree.gob.sv, portalcitas.rree.gob.sv, and your consulate's official website. You can read the details in our Legal Notice.
How the site is funded
Access is completely free. To cover the costs of writing, hosting, and maintenance, we display advertising through Google AdSense. Those ads do not influence the content: the consular information is produced with editorial and accuracy standards, fully independent of advertisers.
You can see how we handle data in our Privacy Policy and in the Cookie Policy.
